What to bring when selling in Houston

General preparation guidance. Check identification, documentation and accepted-material requirements with the Houston yard you choose.

    A valid photo ID

    Your vehicle and plate

    The receiving yard may request vehicle information and proof of ownership for some materials. Confirm what documents are required before travelling.

    Sorted material

    Separate copper, brass, aluminum and steel where practical. Keeping grades separate helps yards assess your material accurately.

    Safe handling

    Ask the receiving yard about tanks, compressors and engines before transporting them. Do not cut, vent or open sealed vessels yourself; hazardous contents require qualified handling.
